Options for Life have provided high quality care for adults with complex needs, learning disabilities and/or autism since 1988. We currently offer PMLD support, community outreach, Online activities and building based opportunities. We are a service for patients in Sandwell and West Birmingham who have a life-limiting illness, and their relatives and carers. We provide:
•Trained nurses able to advise and support patients, relatives, carers and professionals.
•24/7 Urgent Response Team of registered nurses and healthcare assistants to carry out home visits to patients at times of crisis working closely with other services
.•Signposting to services that provide care, advice and equipment.
•Social support for patients, their relatives and carers, including sitting services, domestic support and welfare rights advice.
•Coordination of specialist palliative care assessment including hospice referrals
•Co-ordination of services to ensure care packages are in place when needed.
•After death support to the bereaved by signposting to bereavement support services.

Daily charge if you reside in the local Sandwell Area and utilise the transport service is £15 per day, This charge includes Brunch - Tea, Toast, Biscuits and A piece of fruit at 11am. Lunchtime - a freshly prepared 2 course meal inclusive of drinks and all crafts/activities - excluding exercise (£2 charge)/Chiropodist service (£15 which is quarterly) and includes transport to and from your home for start and finish times.

The Sense Day Service is open 7 days a week, and offers a fully person-centred approach for people of all ages, with a visual and/or hearing impairment. A specialist homecare service to help deaf, deafened, hard of hearing and deafblind adults maintain their independence and improve their lives both at home and in the community.

We support individuals with long term conditions or continuing care needs to participate in activities that support their health and well being. Activities include arts and crafts bible study (optional), bingo, music workshops and extend gentle exercise classes. We organise exchange visits across the country and an annual holiday . People who use our services have a hot nutritious meal and participate in health workshops, information sessions and other projects. We also provide advice and guidance and in some situation provide advocacy to enable participants to access services that will support their health and well being. Costs are competitive and transport is provided via community transport or ring and ride. This service is particularly suitable to older people of African and Caribbean origin however we do have individuals from other cultural groups access our service.
In terms of benchmarking quality, our service has achieved ISO 9001 Quality Mark, this is an International and national quality assurance award which demonstrates that we have robust governance and quality systems and procedures in place with our service.

We are a Third Party Reporting Centre - where a person can report a hate crime confidentially, whether you have been a victim or witness, if you do not want to report directly to the police. Reporting Centre staff are trained in dealing with incidents of hate crime and can help someone to get the support that you may need, after experiencing or witnessing a hate crime.
