CBO provides free and impartial advice to Sandwell residents on issues around; welfare benefits, Immigration and debt.

More detailsThe service supports individuals and families affected by the complexities of the Benefits system and are being impacted by recent welfare reforms. The service also helps people with everyday problems associated with living on low income, navigating the welfare benefits system and the threat of debt. We also give them debt advice and we work other agencies who deal with debt.This service operates 4 days a week (Monday to Thursday, from 10:00 am till 2:00pm)

Participants must have the right to work in the UK and leave to remain until at least 2020. They must be unemployed and not receiving any money for any work, they may or may not be receiving benefits and want to progress to training or employment opportunities.

Nicholl Grange is a 14 bed registered care home for people with mental health problems. It provides 24-hour staffing to help residents live comfortable and fulfilling lives. The home consists of a 10 bedded main unit with 4 separate self contained flats next door and a large and pleasant shared garden area to the rear.

The Sapphire Service is jointly delivered by the West Bromwich African Caribbean Resource Centre in partnership with Agewell CIC. In terms of benchmarking quality, the WBACRC service has achieved ISO 9001 Quality Mark, this is an International and national quality assurance award which demonstrates that we have robust governance and quality systems and procedures in place with our service.
In partnership with the hospital Trust staff, Sapphire aims to:
• Improve the hospital experience for older adults and their carers
• Befriend patients and support with eating and hydration if required
• Identify any barriers to getting you back home as soon as possible
• Support and Advocate for patients in the discharge planning process to reduce readmissions
• Provide support in those early days back at home
• Signpost and help older Adults and carers to access community services in their local area that can improve their quality of life

Shopping support service provided by Home From Hospital Care for Sandwell Residents recently discharged from City Hospital and all Birmingham residents discharged from Birmingham hospitals. HFHC provides six weeks of support to help people do a weekly shop and can provide support and information to make arrangements for shopping support when the six weeks comes to an end.
