Royal Voluntary Service is a national charity built on local volunteering, giving support to older people who need it in hospitals and in our communities.

'Supporting Your Recovery' aims to reduce the number of hospital readmissions and to remove delays to discharge from hospital. Our service supports people aged 65+ with low care needs in their own homes after being discharged from hospital or nursing home.

Depending on their needs, we can assist with a variety of activities to help regain confidence and independence, to improve mobility and general wellbeing.

There are various areas in Sandwell where you can get involved in 'Home from Hospital' volunteering, including Oldbury, Rowley, Smethwick, Tipton, Wednesbury and West Bromwich.

You might help with shopping, collecting prescriptions, looking after pets, introducing people to social groups and activities in their local area or just being there when people begin to do things for themselves.
